Tracy Todd: An Artist To Be Respected

July 4, 1999

Jazz chanteuse Tracy Todd covers renowned songsmiths (Bobby Troup, Blossom Dearie and the Bergmans) on her eight-song CD and does so with a sensual, absolutely in-command voice. Not a flat note within earshot here as Todd hits each and every mark with seasoned grace. Her choice of material is decidedly of another era, however, and we wonder in this ago of smooth jazz whether the commercial prospects of this brand of music will have record labels calling. Nevertheless, this is an artist to be respected.
